Local Newspaper

So this morning as I was drinking my morning coffee and reading the West Central Tribune (Willmar's fine newspaper) to catch up on the nation's stories, I instead was sidetracked by these fun stories. This is quoted straight from the paper this morning, and no, I'm not kidding you. My favorite lines are in bold.

Mountain Lion Spotted: A Spicer man told the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office Saturday that he'd spotted a mountain lion in the wildlife area by Lake Calhoun. (Side note, this is exactly where my parents land and new cabin is - yikes!) The man, who said he's familiar with mountain lions because he has a mounted one, told the authorities he'd seen the animal around 7pm. According to the initial report, the man said he was concerned because of children who live and play in the area.

Theft: A home-made Halloween mannequin named "Harry" was reported stolen Sunday afternoon from a home on the 400 block of 15th avenue SW. According to the police report, Harry, who has a white paper mache head, was last seen wearing a blue stocking cap and a space suit stuffed with newspapers.

Ahh, gotta love the local newspaper :)
